  • Treat all clients who request information with respect and dignity.
  • Protect each client’s privacy and confidentiality. NRMG will not distribute any personal information to a third party for any reason without the permission of client and NRMG.
  • Encourage clients to discuss all potential reverse mortgage applications with a legal counselor or trusted family members.
  • Inform clients, at no charge, about all options available for a reverse mortgage and assist in helping to determine which option is best for his or her needs.
  • If client asks for an educational video about reverse mortgages, we will provide to him/her the educational video free of charge.
  • Help client to clearly and accurately identify all costs associated with a reverse mortgage.
  • Take reasonable steps to check background and procedures of third parties before accepting referrals of business from them, and refuse to accept referrals from those that are found unacceptable. Disclose to clients any third party with a financial interest in the reverse mortgage transaction.
  • NRMG will not imply nor demand to a borrower that he or she is obligated to purchase any other product or service offered by NRMG or another lender to obtain a reverse mortgage.
  • Pay all loan proceeds directly to the borrower, except to retire existing debt, pay a contractor from the borrower’s repair set-aside account, or pay property taxes or hazard insurance premiums from the borrower’s set-aside account for taxes and insurance.
